International Award Winning
Strength in Numbers Volunteer Gathering
At Ronald McDonald House Charities® Newfoundland and Labrador, we share a common understanding that as a provincial organization, we find strength in numbers and that through our efforts, children and families also find strength in numbers. This strength comes from working side-by-side with staff, volunteers, medical professionals, donors, and advocates to create a far-reaching network of support for children and families facing some of life’s greatest challenges.
We want to celebrate the volunteerism and generosity throughout our province, which is why we invite volunteers, donors and the medical community to join us each year at the Annual International Award Winning Strength In Numbers Volunteer Training Conference in St. John’s, to unite our provincial volunteer network and rally around a common mission of keeping families of sick or injured children close to each other and the care and resources they need.
Each year this Volunteer Gathering includes:
- Annual General Meeting
- Volunteer Show and Tell
- Fun Night
- Educational Sessions
- Organization History
- Family Services
- Fundraising & Communications
- Guided Tour of Ronald McDonald House
- Volunteer Recognition and Awards Gala
- Presentation of the Annual Helping Hand Awards – in honor of founding Board Member Dr. Jack Hand
The 2020 RMHC NL Volunteer Gathering will be held April 24/25/2020 at the Capital Hotel in St. John’s.
“Volunteers Plant the Seeds of Kindness. Thank you for helping us Grow”
RMHC has grown. We have grown in so many ways. The volunteer program, our number of supporters, the number of families we have supported, participation at our signature events, the number of groups that prepare meals for families and so on. Thanks to the dedication of those few volunteers that planted the first seeds of kindness, we are excited knowing, that those first seeds have grown and bloomed beautifully. RMHC NL impact has grown having helped more than 1400 sick children and their families during 35,000 nights with the support of more than 350 volunteers in our province, the support of the medical community and thousands of donors, and for this, we say thank you. Thank you for helping us grow.
Every day volunteers and donors continue to plant seeds of kindness and have all worked together for our families, which is why the theme of this year’s conference is “Volunteers Plant the Seeds of Kindness. Thank you for helping us grow!
We are very excited about this Training Conference and we THANK all of you for your role on this RMHC Team and for all the seeds of kindness you plant each and every day for sick children and families that need Ronald McDonald House.
