McHappy Day
McHappy Day is on May 11th 2022!!
Every year, McDonald’s Canada franchisees and crew across the country celebrate McHappy Day, an annual day of community giving in support of Ronald McDonald Houses and other local children’s charities.
McHappy Day continues to play a large role in providing Ronald McDonald House Newfoundland and Labrador with the funds needed to support our House and the families we serve. Since McHappy Day was first celebrated in 1977, McDonald’s Canada, its franchisees and generous guests, have contributed nearly $66 million for Ronald McDonald Houses and local Canadian children’s charities.
On McHappy Day, McDonald’s® donates a portion of all menu items sold in its restaurants to Ronald McDonald Houses and other children’s charities across the country. Come out and support!
McHappy Day is also an opportunity to celebrate the giving that McDonald’s Owner/Operators and Restaurant teams provide all year to Ronald McDonald House, from 10 cent Happy Meal, RMHC cookies, coin box, Round UP, cashless through kiosk or mobile, volunteering and additional donations.
From now until McHappy Day, purchase a McHappy Day heart at @mcdonaldscanada for a $2 donation and receive a special message from an RMHC family or one of our celebrity ambassadors.
We look forward to seeing you at a local McDonald’s restaurant at this year’s event on May 11th 2022 to help celebrate McHappy Day and Keeping Families Close!!
If you can’t make it to the restaurant, celebrate with McDelivery through @DoorDash @UberEats and @SkipTheDishes!

In 2021 McHAPPY DAY GUESTS RAISED OVER $84,524.01
McHappy Day® celebrations on September 22, 2021 raised more than $84,524.01 to help RMHC in Newfoundland and Labrador alone.
We want to thank each and every one of you, your management, your restaurant crew, your volunteers and your customers for an outstanding McHappy Day in support of sick or injured children and their families !! Ronald McDonald House in St. John’s officially opened in September 2012 and since that time we have accommodated 1,500 families with a sick or injured child travelling for medical reasons. These families were able to stay comfortable and safe within minutes of our province’s children’s hospital and enjoy all the programs and services that Ronald McDonald House has to offer. With the average cost of hotels in St. John’s being $197/night, we estimate that Ronald McDonald House has saved families more than $8.1 M in just 9 years. Everyday these numbers continue to grow and everyday there are new families needing the programs and services at Ronald McDonald House.
