OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH McDONALD’S
RMHC Founding and Forever Mission Partner since 1974
From the moment RMHC opened the first Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia, PA, the entire McDonald’s system (owner/operators, suppliers, employees and customers) has helped RMHC support families with sick children providing stability and vital resources.
McDonald’s support extends from monetary contributions and volunteerism, to cause related marketing promotions and the space to place RMHC Donation Boxes that raise money for Chapters around the world. McDonald’s has helped RMHC positively impact millions of children and their families, and continues to provide valuable resources and support to help us expand our core programs and services.
Although McDonald’s is our largest corporate partner, RMHC relies on the support of the entire community and greatly values donations from the community and other corporate partners.
McDonald’s owner/operators in Newfoundland and Labrador support RMHC NL in the following ways:

The remainder of our annual operating income comes from the generosity of individual and corporate donors.
McDonald’s involvement extends beyond monetary support:
– Franchises partner with local Chapters for promotional and fundraising events
– McDonald’s employees are dedicated volunteers
– Owner/operators participate in Global and local RMHC boards

In addition, McDonald’s corporate and regional employees, provide a wide range of help for local Houses in areas such as:
– Legal
– Tax
– Accounting
– Safety and security
– Human resources
– Communications
– Marketing
– Facility construction and maintenance
McDonald’s suppliers are also encouraged to get involved through the donation of gifts in-kind, monetary donations and support for local fundraising events.

Ronald McDonald House Newfoundland and Labrador is fortunate to have a very close relationship with the McDonald’s Owners/Operators and suppliers in our province. Members of the McDonald’s family serve as volunteers on the Board of Directors, and various House committees. As well, McDonald’s franchisees participate in many local events for Our House, including special events, Red Shoe Crew-Walk for Families, and other in-store fundraising efforts.
Although McDonald’s is our largest corporate donor, no company can solely fund RMHC programs and our projected growth. We need the support of the entire community and greatly value any support to RMHC, whether it is through cash donations, time or fundraising efforts.
