HELP MAKE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE A HOME!!

Through the help of community organizations, corporations and individuals, RMHC provides the very best programs for families.   Home for Dinner, Just Like Nan’s Baked Goods Program, Comfort Quilt Program, Keeping Families Connected Program, Magic Room Program, Recreation Program and our Special Day Celebrations/Special Projects Program.

It’s never been easier to sign up for our programs. STAY TUNED!! Our online LIVE Program Calendar (see below) will be back in 2022 with available dates your group can help with our programs. Pick the date and register online – it is that easy!

We look forward to seeing you and your group at Ronald McDonald House soon!!!

BE A #HeroFromHome

Our focus is on continued mission delivery. The suspension of our Home for Dinner Program in March 2020  due to COVID-19 meant the suspension of our of  the involvement of outside groups coming into our kitchen to cook meals for our families. While we have found alternate ways to continue to provide meals for the families staying with us, it has been challenging.  Through donations, Family Service Staff and Volunteers have stepped up to assist with grocery shopping, preparation of home cooked meals and as needed ordering meals at local restaurants.

Your donation will have a direct impact on continuing to deliver our mission of keeping families close to their sick or injured child being treated in hospital. We believe we are stronger together. And if we can’t be together, we can work together to support families with sick or injured children across Newfoundland and Labrador.

If you can be a #HeroFromHome, please make a donation towards our Home for Dinner Program.  While the average cost for a meal for all our families on one day is $300, all donations are accepted.   DONATE NOW

Family Support Programs

The cornerstone of Ronald McDonald House is its family support programs. Our programs offer the best support possible for families.  There are many ways to volunteer and help with our programs: Group & One-Time Only Volunteer Opportunities

Home for Dinner Program (HFD): With the help of corporate teams, community groups, and individuals (up to 4 people), RMHC offers families a home-cooked meal 2-3 times each week.  Groups plan the menu, purchase the ingredients and prepare the meal in our fully equipped kitchen.  This allows families to find comfort, nourishment and the joy of a shared meal with more time spent with each other.

  • Up to 4 people needed to prepare meal.  Each individual must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 and feeling well with no symptoms of illness for 72 hours prior to your scheduled day.
  • All visitors must be at least 19 years old. As an increased safety precaution at this time, children and youth are not currently able to participate.
  • Approximate number of people to serve: 30 people (exact number of adults and children will be provided a few days before)
  • Approximate cost for groceries: $300 (depending on your menu choice) check with us, we may have some supplies on hand
  • Approximate Time commitment:  3 hours – generally groups start at 2:00 to have dinner ready for 5:00pm
  • Feel free to be creative!! Your group can come in as you are or dressed in your favorite theme costumes: wild wild west, pirates, princesses, your company shirts, or dressed to match your menu choice!  If you have a theme idea – let us know – our families, volunteers and staff love to join in the fun!!

Just Like Nan’s Baked Goods Program (JLN) – Nothing feels like home more than the smell of fresh baked goods. Special Day Celebrations Program  – Just like home, preparations are made to ensure, birthdays are celebrated, everyone gets treats at Hallowe’en and visitors like Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny arrive on schedule. Your group is invited to help enhance our special occasions or provide daily activities such as arts and crafts, story time, massage therapy, music during dinner and much more. The possibilities are endless.   If you have a talent you’d like to share with our families, please let us know as these are not listed on our LIVE Calendar and Special Days are celebrated depending on population within the house.

Project Days (PD) – Just like home projects build up, the kitchen cupboards need organizing, the pantry needs sorting, the grounds need attention and spring cleaning days can happen just about any season of the year. Groups are invited to help RMHC stay cleaned and organized.  Groups can see the results within a couple of hours of work, and the families staying at Ronald McDonald House will enjoy the success for months later.  Contact us to see when you and your group can help organize a Project Day at Ronald McDonald House.
