As the news surrounding COVID-19 continues to evolve, Ronald McDonald House Charities® Newfoundland and Labrador primary concern continues to be the health and safety of the families we serve, our volunteers and staff. As we monitor the ever-evolving information, we are keeping in close contact with our partners at the Janeway Children’s Hospital, provincial health authorities and our RMHC Global family for guidance and to ensure our response is proactive and unified.
RMHC NL is committed to the provincial, national and global solution to flatten the curve and to help slow the spread of the COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution, RMHC NL has made the difficult decision to limit programs, suspend volunteer activities and events to support the overall health and safety of our communities.
Right now it’s hard for all families to stay close – but it’s even harder for a family with a sick or injured child especially those who must travel far from home. As Canada’s family care charity, we understand the importance of keeping families close, especially during these difficult times.
Our families need you, now more than ever. RMHC NL has experienced a significant reduction of funding due to cancellation of fundraising events and volunteer programs as a result of COVID-19. We need your help! RMHC NL rallying everyone together to fundraise $175,000 to help us keep families close.
The target amount represents the must needed lost revenues from cancelled fundraising activities.
We understand that money is tight for a lot of people right now and that not everyone is in the position to make a donation right now but if you are able to support us, you can do so by going to our website directly https://rmhcnl.ca/donate/ or by calling into our local charity office, 709-738-0000. Every donation you make through these sources will go directly to RMHC NL $175,000 goal.
Your donation will have a direct impact on continuing to deliver our Mission of keeping families close to their sick or injured child being treated in hospital through:
- Hot meals for a family
- Extra cleaning supplies for advanced cleaning procedures
- Activities to help keep children and families occupied during isolation
- Gift of Family Nights to help a family stay together at a Ronald McDonald House
We believe we are stronger together. And if we can’t be together, we can work together to support families with seriously ill children across your community.
